1. Outliner

A greyed out animation program with one highlighted UI element for an animation file explorer.
Highlighted diagram of the Outliner in Trail Set Manager.

Trails are organized, created, and searchable in the Outliner.

Use the purple + button to create new trails and folders, or right click in the Outliner's Explorer to create trails and folders in specific locations.

You can also create new trails by importing Pure Root Motion data in a JSON format.

2. Gaits

A greyed out animation program with one highlighted UI element for Gaits.

Gaits are created and organized in the Gaits section.

Every Trail must belong to a Gait. Additionally, Idle is a Gait added to every Trail Set by default and does not need to be recreated by the user.

You can collapse the Gait section by clicking the double arrow button: Two arrows pointed at one another.

3. Playback Timeline

A greyed out animation program with one highlighted UI element for a program's playback timeline..
Highlighted diagram of the Playback Timeline in Trail Set Manager.

Directly control the 3D Viewport's playback of the Trail in real-time. Includes controls for repeating playback and changing the speed of playback.

You can also view and select Trail Segments directly in the timeline and view where each Segment resides in the Trail's runtime.

4. 3D Viewport

A greyed out animation program with one highlighted UI element of the programs 3D Viewport for previewing trails..
Highlighted diagram of the 3D Viewport in Trail Set Manager.

Trails are visually displayed in the 3D viewport with a T-posing, unmeshed avatar over selected segments. When using playback, the unmeshed avatar will play through the trail according the Trail and Trail Segment's configurations.

5. Trail Editor

A greyed out animation program with one highlighted UI element for the editor section..

The Trail Editor allows you to edit a Trail's overall parameters, individual Segments, and select additional options for looping and Phase Shifting.

Trail Parameters

A dark mode UI element for Trail Parameters: Initial Direction and Root Offset.
Example of the Trail Parameters section in the Trail Editor.

Every Trail includes overall parameters for the Trail's Initial Direction and Root Offset.

Trail Segments

Segments are customized in the Trail Segments section of the editor.

Gait

The Segment's selected Gait.

Duration

The number of frames within the selected Segment. Animations are captured in 30fps.

Turn Angle

The angle which the avatar turns at the start of the Segment.

Angspeed

The angular speed which the avatar turns during the start of the Segment. Used to create arcs.

Strafe Angle

The angle which the avatar faces when performing movement. For example, enabling this property forces the avatar to face . When disabled, the avatar faces the direction of their movement by default.

Speed Multiplier

The multiplier of the Segment's speed. Used to create speed variations within the same Trail without using different Gaits.

Post Turn

Controls when the avatar begins rotating when carrying out a turn specified by Turn Angle. There are 3 available values: 0.0 (pre-turn), 0.5 (default), and 1.0 (post-turn). 0.0 starts rotation before the avatar's change in direction starts.

0.5 starts rotation when the avatar changes direction.

1.0 delays rotations until after the avatar changes direction.

End Angspeed

The angular speed which the avatar turns at the end of the Segment. Used to create arcs. When disabled, End Angspeed defaults to the same value as Angspeed.

Trail Options

A dark mode UI element for additional option when editing a trail: Looping and Phase Shifting.
Example of the Options section in Trail Editor.

Additional options include: turning the Trail into a looping animation, and enabling Phase Shifting to create animation variations with the Trail. A Trail cannot use Phase Shifting while also being a looping animation.

You can collapse the Options section by clicking the double arrow button: Two arrows pointed at one another.
